Are you putting it at the end of the URL in your browser after doing a search in Google? Can you show me the URL string in your browser?

When I put that code at the end, I get like two search results on my keyword, and the rest of them are just the &pws=0 keyword. I just don’t understand it!

Thanks for that Don. I knew that I could clear the cache on Internet Explorer to get accurate placements but as Firefox is my favouritse browser I couldnt’ figure out how to avoid “skewed” placings for our Nile Cruise website. This “get-around” is really useful and saves me switching to IE periodically to chack our position. Thanks for the advice.

Are the search results only customised if you are signed in?
If they are, does signing out get rid of the customisation?
Google is getting way too clever.

Hi Don,

This is very important info – something I hadn’t realized was happening. Thanks for the great video! I agree with Mark R… we need a firefox app for this. But in the meantime, we can rely on one of these simple solutions to get accurate search results!

Yikes! I just noticed that Chrome’s Incognito mode will still try and grab your IP and customize your results based on your metro if you do a “local” query. Adding &pws=0 still looks to be the only way to guarantee your results aren’t being customized.
