How To Rank In The Local Search Results

Imagine being able to sit down at the table with 27 people who spend all day figuring out how Google and Yahoo rank local search results. You can ask them any question about what will help your website rank best in the local search results.

Well, David Mihm has done that for you in his 2nd Annual Local Search Ranking Factors report. He’s surveyed 27 leading local search experts and asked them to rank 49 different factors on their importance in the local search results.

It’s especially interesting to look at the comments that the various contributors wrote by each of the items. I can’t think of anywhere else on the web where you can get so many valuable perspectives on this topic all in one place.

David has also done a nice summary of the findings, and how they’ve changed from last year in this blog post.

I’m excited to be a contributor to the survey this year, and hope that you will find the report as interesting as I do!
