How to Moderate Comments from the Dashboard

If you’re lucky enough to find yourself with a popular blog, you will likely find it necessary to occasionally moderate the comments that are left on your website. Here’s a short video tutorial outlining exactly how to moderate your most recent comments from your WordPress dashboard.

As shown in the video, the WordPress dashboard contains a pane, entitled “Recent Comments,” that displays the most recent comments left on your website. If some of the comments have been held for moderation, you can approve them, mark them as spam, or delete them altogether. At the same time, if you have a comment that’s already been approved, you can choose to unapprove it, or reply back to the commenter.

The “Recent Comments” pane on the dashboard only shows the last five comments that have been left on your site. In order to see more, either click “View All” at the bottom of the pane, or click on “Comments” on the left-hand side of your WordPress dashboard. From here, you can easily manage all of the comments that have been left on your website.

I use this all the time on my more popular blogs. Especially those that are popular with spammer. Ack!
