Effective WordPress Websites

We spend so much time trying to get our websites and businesses to rank in the Google and Bing search results. But what happens when someone actually clicks through and comes to your website? Can your website get the deal done? Can it meet the goals that you have for it?

That’s what I want to talk about in this podcast session.

At Expand2Web we work with thousands of businesses both directly and indirectly because we sell the SmallBiz WordPress Theme. There are a few things that I’ve seen that work really well – over and over again.

In this podcast we’re going to dig into that and share the elements that make a website successful and productive. I’ll share seven key characteristics of websites that get results, and give you some practical tips for improving your website.

In This Podcast You’ll Learn About:

7 characteristics of websites that deliver results:

  1. Simple design and navigation
  2. Make it Personal (put your picture on it!)
  3. Provide a Call to Action (CTA)
  4. Update it regularly with unique content (websites with blogs get 55% more traffic!)
  5. Syndicate your content
  6. Measure your results (it’s free!)
  7. Go mobile (your website should look best on any device)

I also share two key questions that every website owner should be asking themselves, and a tip to get real-world usability feedback on your site for free.

If you implement even one of these suggestions you will get better results from your website.

You are so right Don. The sooner you can drive people to the “Buy Now”, the better it is for the business owner.

Well I think it is important that the visitor knows exactly what you offer when they visit your site. And in many cases it’s not a direct jump to the buy button, but at least some course of action. It could even be “learn more”. But too many websites leave the visitor stranded with no next step.

I think simple design and navigation really tops the list.
