Google Places Forum Replaced, Valuable Knowledge Base Disappears

Google Places Forum

When Google replaced the old Google Places forum with the new Google and Your Business Forum, they deleted tons of great information, much of it provided by volunteers.

The old forum had valuable info that was still relevant, and was a trusted resource for small business owners to get tough questions answered about their listings. I don’t know why Google would remove that information – many volunteers put in a lot of hard work there.

Fortunately Mike Blumenthal saved some of the old Google Places Forum posts on his website.

Mike is a great advocate and champion for the small business owner, once again shows his commitment and willingness to help. Here’s his blog post on the Google Places Forum update. Thanks for everything you do Mike.

It’s too bad that so much good information was lost. Thanks for letting us know about this. Do you think that there is any chance of the deleted information being made available again in a way similar to how it was in the original google places?
