As I mentioned on this blog before we are doing some testing of the new Google Enhanced Business Listings that were recently turned on in San Jose and Houston.
Well I’m excited to say that Google used one of our clients as an example on their Lat-Long blog!
North Valley Optometry is a San Jose Optometrist – and we’ve been testing the new enhanced listings with them for the past two+ weeks.
This is my business partner Randy Hew’s wife’s business. We’ve been optimizing this site for the past six months and have been getting great results. We’re looking for the enhanced listing to boost the site’s presence even more.
Here is a screen shot of how the enhanced listing looks in the Google 7-Pack.

You can also see it in the 7-Pack if you search for “San Jose Optometrist” in Google.
The Results
Here are some preliminary results for the enhanced listings over the past 16 days:

We received 3,222 total 7-pack impressions in the past 30 days, and 295 actions (meaning clicking for more info on the Maps, driving directions or to the website.) This does not include the enhanced listing. The enhanced listing added 22 more actions (9 expanding the tap on the map, 13 clicks on the enhancement link) in the past 16 days.
So if you double that number to make it closer to the 30 day period for comparison, that’s 44 actions for the enhanced listing vs 295 for the general 7-pack.
I don’t think we’ve had enough time yet to draw definitive conclusions. But we’ll keep you posted on the results from this based on our experiments with several clients.
Availability of Google Enhanced Listings
In the post, Product Manager Shalini Agarwal says that Google is monitoring the enhanced listing trial and “may expand to additional cities” if it is successful.
If you want to be notified when this is available in your area, Google provides this form.
What about you – have you tried this yet? If so, what kind of results are you getting?
