WordPress makes it easy to insert photos, videos, audio or other media into your blog posts. These options will allow you to create multi-media posts using text, images, video and sound.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Adding Media Files from your Computer

  1. Look at the top of your edit box for the Upload/Insert header and next to that the first icon is for Images, the second is for Videos, the third is for Audio files and the fourth is for other media.  Select the media.  A new window will open up called Add media files from your computer.
  2. Click on Select Files. This will open up your computer’s file selection window (may differ according to operating system).
  3. Find and select your file and click on Open.
  4. You can now put in a title which is for your use within WordPress to find files; a caption which will be displayed under the image to your visitors; a link URL if you want your visitor to go to another web page when they click on the image; the alignment on the page and the size of the image.
  5. Go ahead and change any of these descriptive fields to meet your current needs.
  6. Click on Insert into Post or Delete.

  3. You can now put in a title which is for your use within WordPress to find files; the URL of where the image is (YouTube, Vimeo and most video sites  provide this link ; a caption which will be displayed under the image to your visitors; a link URL if you want your visitor to go to another web page when they click on the image; the alignment on the page.
  4. Go ahead and change any of these descriptive fields to meet your current needs.
  5. Click on Insert into Post or Delete.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Using Media Files you have already uploaded to the Gallery

  5. Go ahead and change any of these descriptive fields to meet your current needs.
  6. Click on Insert into Post or Delete.
