Hi Dannah,
The best way to do this is to actually move your WordPress files to the main directory on your website, and then update the WordPress database. There are two places in the db that contain the actual URL to the site and these need to be updated. Here are the WordPress instructions for moving your site: Moving your WordPress blog.

And finally, you need to touch up any links to images hosted in your WordPress media gallery. The Update URLs plugin from VelvetBlues automates this for you.

Let me know if you need help doing this. Also - I'm working on a step-by-step blog post on how to do this that I should have done by this weekend...

Hey Don, I just have a quick question. I cant figure out how to move my WP blog to my main url so I was thinking I would just install WP on the main url but I was wondering with your theme there is a blog page would the blog page forward to my old blog or would there be a new blog page? Now its affordablewebvideos.com/blog but that would be the url of the new themes blog page. I just dont want to mess things up too bad. I thought I could just put WP on the main url and then delete it on the old /blog/ site. What would you suggest?

Hi Diana,
I made the SmallBiz Theme after creating a lot of websites for small business owners as part of a local search optimization plan to get them customers from local searches in their area.

I optimized it for that type of a business, and created a custom "Options Panel" that shows up in the WordPress Admin UI so that the business owner could easily change all of their information and have it show up on the site. So this theme is specific to that type of website.

Thesis is a very powerful theme, and is more extensible for a web consultant designer/developer. I use it for my blog and several other sites too - it just depends on what you want to do. See 9 Reasons to Use the Thesis WordPress Theme for some of the powerful capabilities.

Thanks for the great questions; I hope I've answered them. If not let me know!

Hey, Don - how does this differ from the Thesis theme? Am trying to decide which to purchase. Were you trying to correct some flaw with Thesis? Is this new theme easier to use, in your opinion? Why did you feel the need to create this? If it's just to make money - that's certainly a motivation I have no problem with...

Are there types of sites for which you think this theme wouldn't be a good fit?

I'd also like to know what Small Biz Forum you're referring to when you mention benefits.

One last question - can I use this on multiple client websites without paying an additional fee?

Kudos on a REALLY informative site, Don - just started following you on Twitter, too! (And I don't follow many people.)
