I just noticed the other day that Google is now prompting you for a City or ZIP code on certain searches that it thinks may be for local goods and services. For example, I typed in the search term Chiropractor, and along with the search results it included this little box asking if I wanted to enter a City or ZIP.
Greg Sterling noticed this as well. This is another example of how Google is providing more and more relevant results for local goods and services in search results. According to various estimates, 45% of Internet searches are for local goods and services. Small businesses need to take advantage of this trend to make sure their businesses show up in these local search results.
How?
